 Friday Questions! Happy New Year!!!

Friday questions!

Well... we finally made it through the Christmas holiday and a new year is approaching fast! What do you want for your life in 2008?

Peace? Love? Contentment? Understanding? Compassion? Thoughtfulness? Generosity? A new attitude?

You can make 2008 what you want it to be. All it requires is some focus, effort and determination. I say Go for IT!

Okay.... let's get to the fun questions now!

1. Is there anything you would change about 2007?

2. Do you feel you have made progress in this past year?

3. What were the setbacks that prevented you from doing what you wanted to do?

4. Can you remove those obstacles in the future?

5. What do you like to eat on New Year's Day?

6. Do you prefer a lively loud gathering or a quiet reserved small celebration to bring in the New Year?

7. Do you drink champagne at midnight?

8. What was the best thing you accomplished in 2007?

9. What is something daring you want to do in 2008?

10. Would you like to have more fun in 2008? What's stopping you?

11. Do you allow yourself to belly laugh enough? Why not if you answered no?

12. Are you planning to lose weight in the coming year?

13. Do you have a plan of action to accomplish this?

14. As far as exercising, what is your favorite activity to do?

15. Have you learned from any mistakes this past year?

16. Do you like celebrating your birthday?

17. Do you have any vacation trips in mind for 2008? Where to?

18. How many cups of coffee do you drink in a day?

19. Did you make cookies for the holidays? If so what kind?

20. Are they all gone yet?

Bonus question: What is the one thing you want to accomplish the most in your lifetime?

Have a Great New Year Peeps in case I don't see ya before next year!

Love,

 Merry Christmas Streamers!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all my wonderful friends. I hope the season finds you joyful and blessed. A new year is approaching upon us and it is a new beginning of renewal and opportunities. You have the ability to make your dreams come true.... You have the ability to make your life better than it has ever been before. All it takes is a desire and the focus to keep moving forward towards the things you want to transpire in your life. I see a change a coming and it is a good thing. Our eyes are opening in ways we have never seen before and it is just as it should be.

Transformation and change takes effort on our part but the fruits of our labor brings much joy and peace and contentment.

Keep moving forward and great things will come of it.

I wish for you peace and love.

Have a wonderful and delightful Christmas. Let all the worries and the stress go and truly enjoy each moment as it unfolds.  There is a blessing waiting to happen so don't miss it.

Love to each of you,

Always,

Old Age, I decided, is a gift

I am now, probably for the first time in my life, the person I have always wanted to be.

Oh, not my body! I sometime despair over my body, the wrinkles, the baggy eyes, and the sagging butt. And often I am taken aback by that old person that lives in my mirror (who looks like my mother!), but I don't agonize over those things for long.

I would never trade my amazing friends, my wonderful life, my loving family for less gray hair or a flatter belly. As I've aged, I've become more kind to myself, and less critical of myself. I've become my own friend.

I don't chide myself for eating that extra cookie, or for not making my bed, or for buying that silly cement gecko that I didn't need, but looks so avante garde on my patio. I am entitled to a treat, to be messy, to be extravagant.

I have seen too many dear friends leave this world too soon; before they understood the great freedom that comes with aging.

Whose business is it if I choose to read or play on the computer until 4 AM and sleep until noon?

I will dance with myself to those wonderful tunes of the 60&70's, and if I, at the same time, wish to weep over a lost love .. I will.

I will walk the beach in a swim suit that is stretched over a bulging body, and will dive into the waves with abandon if I choose to, despite the pitying glances from the jet set.

For they too will get old.

I know I am sometimes forgetful. But there again, some of life is just as well forgotten. And I eventually remember the important things.

Sure, over the years my heart has been broken. How can your heart not break when you lose a loved one, or when a child suffers, or even when somebody's beloved pet gets hit by a car?

But broken hearts are what give us strength and understanding and compassion. A heart never broken is pristine and sterile and will never know the joy of being imperfect.

I am so blessed to have lived long enough to have my hair turning gray, and to have my youthful laughs be forever etched into deep grooves on my face. So many have never laughed, and so many have died before their hair could turn silver.

As you get older, it is easier to be positive. You care less about what other people think.

I don't question myself anymore. I've even earned the right to be wrong.

So, to answer your question, I like being old. It has set me free.

I like the person I have become.

I am not going to live forever, but while I am still here, I will not waste time lamenting what could have been or worry about what will be.

And I shall eat dessert every single day. If I feel like it.

MAY OUR FRIENDSHIP NEVER COME APART ESPECIALLY WHEN IT'S STRAIGHT FROM THE HEART!

MAY YOU ALWAYS HAVE A RAINBOW OF SMILES ON YOUR FACE AND IN YOUR HEART FOREVER AND EVER!

Have a blessed Christmas and enjoy the holiday with your loved ones!

Big ole Bear hugs for everyone!!!!

Love,

PolarB ;)

 Catching up HO HO HO!

HO! HO! HO! Peeps!

Hopefully my Ho Ho's have not offended anyone. Have you heard about that recently? They are making all shopping mall Santa's say "He He He!" verses "Ho Ho HO!"? Isn't that ridiculous? I think the only person who might possibly get offended is the Ho walking around in them stilettos with the fishnet stockings. And really it's just because she probably is just pissed because the fat man in the jolly suit aint paying her no attention and passing no green bucks across her palm. You know what I'm saying?

How do these people think this stuff up? Is there a committee somewhere holed up in a hotel conference room waiting with baited breath and an agenda to see what supposed offense they can go after next?

Me... I aint got time for that. I am too busy enjoying the holidays and all the festivities. We went to our zoo last weekend to the hugely popular Festival of Lights. It was packed and cold and rainy but man did we ever have a good time. I got to see a holiday show- Polar Express in a 4D theater. Yes you heard me right...a 4D theater! What's that you ask? Well.... when the train rolls down the track, you feel it in your seats. When it snows on screen, it snows on you too. When they have piping hot cups of hot cocoa, you smell it. When ice and water sprays on the screen, you are gonna get wet! You wear 3D glasses and get all the visual and actual effects too! It was awesome! I only wished it was longer because it was really cool to experience.

By the time it started really downpouring rain, we skadaddled out of there. Unfortunately, being in the cold and rain gave me a terrible cold and I was feeling quite puny for the next three or four days, and ended up staying home in bed, I am feeling much better now.

We had a holiday celebration at work on Friday. It was called Festivus! We had live bands playing most of the day, holiday celebrations, a White Elephant gift exchange, a potluck luncheon, then we got to go home early too. They gave us a free 18 lb turkey and that was pretty cool. I really do love where I work because they do alot for us. They are not your typical company.

I finished up my Christmas cards and got them off in the mail. All the presents are bought, wrapped and under the tree. I baked four different kinds of cookies this weekend. (Yes, Taylor, Peppermint Moons are on the way!) Some for work, some for home, and some as presents. Lovie and I watched Jack Frost today and that was fun.

I am ready for the holidays and just enjoying this last week before Christmas and a few days off. We got the most amazing pretty snow yesterday. Fluffy and white and it came down fast! It was beautiful. Then it rained and we got more snow and winds today. In all we were anticipating about six inches, but with the rains melting most of it, I think we have ended up with maybe one or two out there right now.

Anyway... just wanted to catch up since I have been so busy lately. Hope you all are doing fine and dandy and dreaming of sugarplum candy and you are ready for the holidays too. Enjoy it... Dont sweat the small stuff.. you know. It doesn't have to be picture perfect and as long as you have love in your life and a nice warm place to call home, then that's what really counts, right?

Take care my friends,

Happy Holidays!
