The Inner Sanctum...

 Another PolarB and Lovie Adventure

Ready for another PolarB and Lovie adventure?

Back in our early days of our relationship we were silly and nearly giddy with wild love all the time. I remember the first time we went to the grocery store... Krogers I think... with one another after we moved into our apartment together. That was a fun trip. Lovie got a cart and she went up and down the aisles riding the cart with wild abandon like a little kid while laughing and giggling all the way. She made me laugh constantly and I made her laugh too. She always said I bring the kid out in her but actually I think we are both quite playful and fun. I loved her energy and her smile and those deep brown beautiful eyes of hers that had a sparkle of mischievousness to them. We would go from one aisle to the next throwing things in the cart saying oooooh let's get this... yeah... let's get some of these too! It was fun and we loved just being together.

At our apartment, we didn't have much... Lovie ended a 13 year relationship when I came along and nearly left everything behind and I was just a 19 year old whippersnapper and didn't have a lot to my name but the clothes on my back and a few items from my grandmother I was able to hang on to. Our little cozy three room apartment was really bare... we had a mattress on the floor in the bedroom and we ate off of cardboard boxes on the living room floor for our dining table. It didn't matter because we were together and in love. We had an old couch that was a hide-a bed and a worn chair. We bought one of those little portable grills for the patio and two folding chairs. But that was pretty much it for our meager beginnings. Slowly we bought things as we were able to.. a dining room table and chairs, then a queen bed, and a new sofa and recliner chairs. That was over 20 years ago and now we have a beautiful home together filled with probably too much furniture and things we have collected and bought over the years and life is very good. We started from scratch and only had each other to depend on and in that regards it makes what we have even more satisfying and makes us proud of how far we've come and we appreciate and value what we have now even more so because of it.

I remember our first few days together when we were dating. I took Lovie to a Halloween party that I had been going to for several years. We probably drank too much but we had such a good time. There was the Old Fart Band playing live rock and roll music and it was a killer party. Huge bon-fire, tons of people, lots of drinks and the famous "Jungle Juice" that was a mixture of whatever bottles of liquor everyone brought poured into a huge tub mixed with fruit juices like pineapple and orange juice. Yeah those were the days alright...Back then people didn't think too much about drinking and driving because everyone did it. I wouldn't even dream of doing that now, but back then we weren't as smart I guess or we were willing to throw caution and our cares to the wind. I remember we left the party that night and had to end up and walking several blocks to the truck where we parked giggling and being big kids the whole time. We got in the truck and pulled out and Lovie remembered that she wanted to get something out of the back end of the truck. So she says I'll be right back.. you wait here. She hops out and goes to get in the back of the truck back where the tailgate was... Trouble was that she forgot to put the gear shift in park! Here I am in the truck and it is moving down the road and the driver- Lovie is standing in the middle of the road with her mouth hanging open with a suprised yet slightly drunken look on her face! So what do I do? No I don't wave bye bye.. I dive headfirst into the floorboard of the driver's side and am trying to stop the truck by hitting the brake petals with my hands while manuevering upside down. Try doing that when you are drunk.... it ain't easy! Anyway.. Lovie came to her senses and ran to get back in the truck all while we are dying laughing. She probably said to me... What are you doing down there? Which only made me crack up even more. Well I don't know.. I thought I'd hang out of the floorboard of your truck for a while! Anyway that sobered us up a bit and we drove on safely home with no further incidents...Okay welll we might have parked somewhere for a make out session or two before she actually took me home ...Shhhh... don't tell anyone okay? But anyway, it has certainly been very exciting and never boring every step of the way.

Lovie tends to panic sometimes in situations and she has the patience of a gnat's ass which for those of you who don't know how small a gnat's ass is... it's extremely small. Let's just say it's close to zilch. I am the voice of reason and calm in our family and I have a large amount of patience. Okay well most time.... Sometimes when Lovie panics and has an outburst.. I just can't help but to laugh, especially if it is about something that she hasn't went further than her nose to think it out. We used to go to a deep discount grocery warehouse to get our stuff sometimes. It saved us money and the food there was great. Much like Sam's Club or Costco is today where you can buy in bulk. Well we used to go to this place called Macros. You would buy your food and pack it yourself in bags or boxes you brought from home. It was long before Bigg's grocery came into play where you do pack your own groceries, so the concept was a new thing. We were on our way there one fine afternoon and driving down the road peacefully and Lovie all of the sudden gets a look of horror on her face. I'm thinking something major is wrong. I say What's wrong? I dont know if she is having a coronary or if she swallowed a bug or what. She slaps her forehead and screams- "We forgot the bags!" I look at her puzzled. She looks at me like I have two heads or something. "The bags! Tha bags! We forgot the fucking bags! " She cries out in horror.... I started laughing out loud. I calmly look at her and say "Hon, they do have bags at the store that you can use if you need to." Me and my voice of reason prevail once again. She lets what I have said settle into her brain and then she starts smiling... "Oh yeah... they do dont they?" And this was way before she ever became a blond from a box! We still laugh over that one. Heck we laugh over a lot of things over the years but these are some of the things that tickle us the most.

I was going to tell you about our whirlwind trip that we took all in a two week period that had us traveling and staying in Canada, New York, Pennsylvania and Massachusettes but I know that will be a much longer story and so I will save it for another time.

One last question for you... Have you ever smelled mothballs before? If your answer is yes... what I wanna know is how did you get their little legs apart? LOL! Sorry.. the gnat's ass reminded me of that joke and I just couldn't let it pass by.

Have a great week!

Later peeps!

 Early music and excuses

Please excuse PolarB from Friday Fifteens today... she was tied up at the office...okay... that's a lie... we actually were having one heck of a party today at work that started about 8:30 this morning.

We have a huge pep rally of sorts every year in which our company goes to a convention center and we celebrate our yearly wins and accomplishments and they give us a run down of the focus for the next year. The music and party is off the hook and it is almost like going to a nightclub and dancing your ass off. Strobe lights, sirens.. music pumping so loud that it is like a big parade echoing in your chest. Dancing and beachballs all thrown up in the air batted around so they never touch the floor and the roar of the crowd of like 2300 people well.... it is an awesome experience. Usually it is in the afternoon but this year it was early in the morning. Kinda hard to get your groove on while drinking that first cuppa coffee...

They show us the new promotional advertising commercials that are coming out to promote our brands and we get the heart wrenching success stories that makes you cry because they truly touch your heart and soul. Our CEO was reduced to tears today so much that he couldnt even speak for a moment or two. We are lucky and take so many things for granted in this country and in our lives. Todays theme was about connecting with one another and encouraging the heart and each other to be the absolute best we can be.We all linked arms for several moments to unify us and to symbolize that we each have an important part in what we all do together to make us a success and makes us stronger.

Anyway that went on until about 11 and then we went back to the office and they had a huge tent outside in the courtyard with a live band jamming... we got a nice lunch and mingled... then we broke out into sessions with our teams and they gave us gifts and thanked us each personally for our individual accomplishments and all our hard work. Then they let us go home at 2:00 this afternoon to connect and be with our families.

I really do work for a great company and I am honored to be part of a great team.

Anyway... here it is after 1:00 in the morning early Saturday and I am just now getting into the computer and the stream and no questions....Oh sa-la-ve!

Oh well you cant win them all.

I thought I would go ahead and post my Saturday music since it is officially Saturday now....and we are having company over tomorrow evening so I wont be able to get on here then either. I am finding that I am not having much time for the computer at all since it's been nicer out. The great outdoors is just calling to me too much right now and it is a busy time with the gardens and outdoor activities... For all those who I have not answered your comments... I will.. gimme some time but I will eventually answer them. I soon will be gone for several weeks but I am planning something to tide you over while I am gone....so hold onto your horses okay?

Enjoy my selections for today which is none other than my little Mocha Latte Love Drop. The beautiful and seductive Miss Tina Turner!
Awwww... Just look at her beautiful face and those graceful long legs..... ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Okay I am getting sidetracked here...

There are two of my favorite songs that I could not find of Tina's that I wanted to add to this playlist but I couldn't find them...
"Undercover Agent for the Blues" is one of my favorites and my all time favorite song of Tina's is "Be Tender With Me Baby"

They are great songs... so enjoy these ...she's great no matter what she sings. That smooth huskey voice of hers that is dripping in sexual appeal...Mmmmmmmm Mmmmmmmmm Mmmmmmmmm! Talk amounst yourselves would ya?

Ahhhhh... now I can go to sleep and dream sweet dreams.

Catch ya on the flip side peeps!

 PolarB & Lovie Adventures

Ready for another PolarB and Lovie adventure?

Gosh we have had so many funny things that happen and most involve us traveling on road trips. In fact our very first adventure together started on a Friday night taking a trip down south. We were going to spend the weekend together to get away for a few days of fun and relaxation and then drive back home on Sunday night. Since we had never traveled together before and this was our first road trip, we went to the local Kmart ( This was long before Walmart ever came into the picture) and bought a map so we would know how to go and what roads to take. Well everything was fine and dandy.. We had our overnight bag packed and a small cooler in between the seats filled with soda pops and yummy snacks to munch on. This was back in the early 80's and our car that we had then did not have air conditioning. It was an old gray Buick Skyhawk. It didnt matter because we were young and wild and free with the wind whipping through our hair as we headed out on the highway. Life was good and we were in love! The music was cranked up on the radio and we were as happy as clams on a half-shell.

We got out on the highway and knew the general direction we wanted to go so no worries and not a care in the world but being together. So here we are traveling along sailing smoothly and every once in a while giving each other those little love glances that you give to those closest to your heart and she says... you think we should get the map out to see where the exits are that we need to take? So I say yeah... I dig out the trusty map and I am excited because here I am with my new lover and I have a role to fulfill in this little adventure of ours. She is the driver and I am the navigator. I am the keeper of the map and I will get us to our destination. I am the official map reader! So I carefully unfold the brand new map and it is all nice and new and crispy. I finally get it all opened up and flat and I am holding it up with both hands wide and big because it is a huge map. I go to look at it to get my bearing of where we are and I am searching for the little spot on the map and then all of the sudden WHOOSH! The suction from all the air flowing through the car with the windows down sucked the map right out of my hands and out the window! Oh My! I was flabbergasted! With my hands still in the same position that they had been holding the map just seconds earlier but now were empty handed, I slowly turn my head to look at Lovie. The look of surprise on her face and mine I am sure was priceless! Oh if only we would have had a camera at that precise moment. It would have been a Kodak moment for sure. I stammered... I .... I.... I.....

Lovie starts cracking up and laughing at me so hard. Of course we were flying down the highway and couldn't stop and go back to get the map and I was just sitting there stunned with a look of shock on my face. After a few moments I finally recovered and started laughing too. We both were cracking up so hard that Lovie could barely drive.. Tears streaming down her face and that just made it even funnier. We were able to navigate our way together through trial and error to get to where we were going and had a blast in spite of losing the map. Every single time we head out on the road, we think back to this memory fondly and laugh. I have still retained my official job as the map reader in this family, but I definately learned to roll all windows up if I am going to look at any map from now on. We've been laughing and loving in this relationship from the very beginning and will continue to do so for many years to come.

One of the fun things we like to do when traveling is sing songs to the top of our lungs. Not in our regular voices mind you but in opera like voices. Makes it more fun... we call them our "Highway Tunes". Songs like On Broadway.... or silly little songs like an old one called Mertzie Dost. Sometimes we do a college gradution theme song in a Kathryn Hepburn style voice with a lot of low base altos and shakes. Half of the time we cant even get through the whole song because we are cracking each other up with our serious song faces. We try to hold out as long as we can but one look at each other and we are done for. Cracking up and howling with fits of laughter and giggles. Lovie says if anyone ever heard us they would officially deem us as crazy nuts. That may be true but I dont care.. It's what being in love is like. Being silly and having fun together... letting your hair down...okay, well I got spiked short hair but at least letting it blow in the wind wild and free. It's about maps flying out the window and flying by the seat of your pants with the music blaring and a song in your heart... but you dont care because you are together and that's what matters.

We are getting ready to head out on another adventure soon... heading to the beaches of South Carolina and on the way back, a few days at my auntie Taylor-Bear and Joey's place. We are both excited and know it will be fun and filled with lots of laughter and love.. Who knows what kinds of fun things we will get into along the way but at least I am with the woman of my dreams and I know whatever it brings, it will also bring a smile to my face and much love to my heart.

Until next time,
PolarB ;)

The Adventures of PolarB and Lovie

You know people, Lovie and I have so much fun sometimes that it is really easy to keep the laughter and adventure in our relationship. You know those times when you laugh so much that you almost pee your pants or you end up with tears streaming down your face and your belly hurting because you've laughed so hard? Well Lovie and I have those moments frequently. I though maybe I would share some of them with you.. Of course be pre-warned that it usually isnt as funny as being there, and still even though some of these things happened years ago.. it still brings a smile to my face remembering them and Lovie and I crack up every time we talk about it.

I will share a few of them with you. Maybe you will see the humor in it or maybe it's just me.... Yesterday in fact was one of those moments that I cracked up. Yesterday morning I woke up fairly early and it was a sunny beautiful morning. Lovie was already up and I could hear her running water in the kitchen and the smell of coffee in the air. All of the sudden I hear our car alarm go off in the driveway. I yelled to Lovie-- Hey! The alarms going off! Go see what's going on... Well first of all I should tell you that Lovie is very possessive of her stuff and Lawdy be.... I pity the fool who touches her toys! She's like a saber cat baring her claws and fangs! In fact one time when we were living in an apartment building, we heard some people talking outside in the driveway... naturally she got up to see what the commotion was as there was always something happening and going on ...It was a neighbor who had a few of his buds over --they had been drinking and they were out in the driveway... well one of the poor fellows was standing by our car and he was leaning on it with his hands and his butt to help himself keep his balance. You would have thought he commited a major felony the way she acted. Lovie goes flipping the screen door open and stands out on the patio and she crosses her arms. She hollared down to him, What do you think you're doing?! Git your paws off my car! Well beings that she came out like gangbusters, he apologized and said they were just tallking and he wasnt doing nothing to her car... I think she scared him a little. I told you she's a bit fiesty....

Anyway so Sunday when the car alarm started going off... She runs out the door like she's gonna go kick somebody's butt. A few minutes later she comes back in and I asked her what it was. She shrugs her shoulders and said I dont know.. I didnt see a thing. Nobody was around and the car alarm was just going off.
So Lovie goes back in the kitchen while I get up and get dressed. I start to go into the living room and there goes the car alarm again! I said -It just went off again! She hightails it out the front door ready to catch the perp and she's out there for a few minutes. I go to look out the door just in case she is beating some poor sap... and she is walking around the car shaking her head and looking puzzled. I asked her -What was it?
She goes I dont know.... maybe a cat jumped up on the car or something... I said well I dont think a cat could set the alarm off. Doesnt somebody have to try to open the car handle for the alarm to go off? She goes yeah... I think so... So she comes back inside and we get a cup of coffee and wonder if we have a car malfunction.

Lovie says... Maybe you should get the car book out and we will just de-activate the alarm so it wont go off. Maybe it's a fuse... Will you read the book and lets try to see what it is? So I said yeah and I was joking around that maybe it was a ghost messing with us. She just looks at me like I've gone off my rocker and I just grin back at her. So a bit later we go out there and I pull the book out of the glove box and read up on all the mechanics of the alarm system and find out that we cant deactivate it. Well at least it doesnt tell us how to... I told Lovie well maybe that's a good thing because it is nice knowing that if someone tries to break into the car we are going to know it. She goes yeah...but what do we do if it keeps going off and nobody is there? I said I dunno! You'll get lots of exercise running back and forth maybe? Again I get one of her famous looks! I am sooo lucky! I love em you know...that's why I get them so often. Lovie asked what does it say about the fuses? Maybe we should check the fuses! I read on about the fuse box and nowhere does it list what any of the fuses are for or what they are connected to. I said I dont think that's a good idea to start messing with the fuses Lovie... Maybe you can take it and get it checked out at the gas station.

So we went on about our day and worked out in the yard for a most of the morning and then I decided to lay in the sun for a while after I fixed some lunch. I was laying there in my lounge chair out in the yard with the hose so I could cool off when it got too hot and Lovie goes in to clean up our lunch dishes. I am laying there and I keep hearing this clicking noise. I sit up and look around and I am thinking What the heck is that? Then I hear a beep like the car horn but just every once in a while. I figured out it was coming from our car again so I yell to Lovie to come here. She comes out and I said- The car is going crazy again. It keeps clicking locking and unlocking the door and it has beeped like four times now. I said do you have the car keys with you? She goes yeah- they are in my pocket.....

That was when everything started coming together and the light bulb went off in my head... I slowly said... Have you had those keys in your pocket all morning? She goes Yeah...Why? I started cracking up! She goes What is so funny? I said You are the one who keeps setting off the alarm! Finally it dawns on her and she gets a suprised look on her face. Then she starts cracking up. I said everytime that car alarm has gone off you've been leaning up against something havent you? She is laughing hard now, She says through her laughing fit... Yeah the kitchen sink! I said you silly silly woman! Does this mean you are gonna have to kick your own butt? She just grins like a Chesshire Cat....

I love this woman.... she keeps things lively for me and she definately keeps me on my toes! I have so many other stories that I could share and maybe I will make it a weekly series... "The Laughter Tales of PolarB and Lovie's Adventures."

Whaddya think?

Have a great week peeps!
