Hey Peeps..
Okay so how many of you have already trimmed the tree and hung the lights out in the yard?
Well Lovie has been working diligently on getting all the outside lights hung with care and we turned them on Thanksgiving night! They are beautiful but we have one small annoyance of a problem. We have a resident bunny rabbit that has taken a liking to our strung lights that are hung out to create a large green Christmas tree that hangs from the top of our pool fence down to the ground. Mr Bunny has taken bites of the cords and bitten clean through two sections of the lights. Lovie discovered this the day after Thanksgiving so out to the store she went to buy two replacement sets and she restrung them all again. Well guess what? Last night the wackey rabbit did it again!! That's four sets of lights she has destroyed! Lovie is fit to be tied and although she is an advid animal lover, I think she is about to the point of saying "Ethel- get the gun!" She is going to try to splice the wires together now instead of buying more light sets so we will see what happens. I told her we could put chicken wire around the section the bunny is biting to keep it away.. but we will see what happens.
We are trying to decide whether or not to put a tree up or not. Not sure what we will do... I am sure alot of it has to do with Lovie having to do most of the stuff and she isnt sure she wants to lug it all in from the garage...
Speaking of which, my knee is still healing and recovering. They worked my ass hard today at PT! I took Friday off last week so we could relax and go to the movies- We saw "Happy Feet" and it was so cute-- You gotta get the soundtrack because the music totally rocked!
Anyway back to my PT woes... lol-- I had sweat dripping off me today because they are giving me a great workout. I had three new exercises today plus I still have to do all the ones I've been doing. I was there nearly two hours today. I had to do one legged leg presses which make me groan and grunt. I had to walk and down ramps without my cane, which actually wasnt bad going up... but coming down is another story. I knee gave out on me once and I hate when that happens because it scares the crap out of me- makes me think I am going to fall and I hate the feeling. Then they put me on the weight machine doing leg lifts.- I could not lift my knee one inch so they let me use both legs and it took me alot of effort to get 20 of the done. I had sweat dripping down my face by the time I got them done. I was suppose to do 30 but she told me for now to just do 20 since it was difficult for me. However in all this, I did have a breakthough today and was able to do my front leg lifts completely by myself where I am laying flat on a table and lift my leg straight up into the air. I did 30 of them which was real progress considering up until now I had to have assistance doing them. They high fived me and sung Go Polar! Go Polar! (Okay they sang my real name but you get the point.)
Then we had the dreaded knee bends.... My regular guy Ryan just got married so he is out for a week and another guy named Kevin is filling in for him. Ryan told me last week he was not going to bend me anymore because I was at 118 and the goal was 120 so he said my bend looked great. I was so pleased because that bending stuff hurts like hell and I was glad to be done with that! So today Kevin says he will stretch me out and measure me which meant he was going to bend me!--- UGHHHHHH!!!!!!

And here I thought I was friggin done with that! GGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!
So Kevin starts working my kneecap moving it back and forth and starts bending me and he is way worse than Ryan!- It hurt like a mutha!! BUT- Guess what my bend measured at today? 136!!!!!!!! Of course Kevin was applying alot of pressure on me so he told me to bend it myself and lets see how far I could get it on my own. Guess what that number was? 123!! I am so glad about that even though it hurt like the dickens and I am way sore today and will be tonight too-- that is real progress and I am so happy about that.
Last Friday was five weeks and that is great so far -- I know I still have alot of work to do but it is coming along great and I will be able to walk pain free very very soon and that is exciting!
I am still a bit concerned about being able to sit at work for a full day because I cant do that now without hurting and I have to get up alot because I get stiff real fast but I still have three more weeks to go and who knows what will happen by then. I still am not able to drive yet but soon---- I know it will happen soon.
Okay... well I guess I have bored you with enough of these details.. sorry my life is not more exciting these days but that is how recovery goes I guess. Thanks to all who still take the time to read my drivel.
Later gators!
