The Inner Sanctum...

 Elvis has left the building....

Here it is finally.... what you've all been waiting for!

Elvis is alive and well and he came to the Halloween party! Okay.... it wasn't REALLY Elvis... it was just me in drag!

I have to say I kinda got used to them long sideburns.. they kept me warm last night out in the cold brisk air. and the bonfire was feeling pretty good too.

Here is my little Lovie in her costume too. She was a cutie if I do say so myself.. I think I need a little brokeback...

We had to do front and back pictures for her... yes she kinda cheated this year.... She dolled herself up and put on a milk mustache and the back of her shirt says GOT MILK? - She is certainly a little hottie in my book still.

Seeing Taylor was awesome and we got in plenty of hugs and hugs and more hugs. I am sworn to promises though and cant post any other pictures yet until later. - The time went so fast with the party and all that I really didnt get the chance to talk to her as much as I would have hoped but I know there will be alot more times in the future.

The party was great and it was so relaxing last night sitting around the bonfire being mesmerized by the fire and it's warmth. There were even shooting stars out last night in the night sky that were great.
Kazza Bear- we had smores for you in your honor!

Well peeps I will post more pics later of the party and I am pretty tired tonight.

Love ya all!

 Party Day!!!!

Yippee! Tonight is the Halloween party which means that my Aunite Taylor Bear is almost here! Most likely they will be here in about an hour.. They started out early this morning and bless their souls for driving here to be with us. I am so excited to meet her and Joey in person and give her a big ole bear hug. She is very special to me and actually it feels like I have known her forever. It is one of those connection things that was meant to be. She said when she met Mama Bear and Papa that it was almost like a family reunion because it was so familiar and at ease and she is right. She feels like she has been part of our family for a very long time even though it's only been months. I know that this is one of those lifetime relationships and I am blessed to have her in my life. I love ya Taylor!

Soooooooooooo since she wont be able to see the computer until she gets back home and Mama Bear helped me work on my costume already I suppose I can tell you guys what I am going to be finally! The clues were that it was entertaining, and I may be singing, and there will be lots of sequins...... anyone guess yet? No! That's not it! There is no way in Hell I could pull off Tina Turner. My legs would be the after picture of when entertainers let themselves go. LOLOLOLOL!
Anyone else care to take a guess? Okay I suppose you have waited long enough! I am going to be ELVIS! My costume is pretty dang cool if I say so myself. You'll just have to see the pictures later. By the way does anybody know where I can find me some peanut butter and nanner sandwiches?

I made my Buffalo chicken dip this morning for the party....not to worry... no buffalos were harmed in the process. I made a batch of guacamole too.. Always good to have green dip for Halloween. The kids think it is gross but I love it! So tonight I will be partying all night long and probably feeling no pain by the end of the night... I thought I would post the Buffalo Chicken dip recipe. If you love Buffalo Hot Wings then you are gonna die for this dip. Here it is:

Buffalo Chicken Dip

2 Large cans of Chicken
2 8 oz Philedelphia Cream Cheese
2 ounce bottle of Tabasco sauce
1 8 oz bottle of Ranch dressing
1/2 cup chopped celery
2 cups shredded Cheddar Jack cheese
1 stick of margerine

In a skillet, saute the celery in the butter until tender and almost transparent. Add the whole bottle of Tabasco sauce. Add in cream cheese and let it melt while you stir to blend well. When the cream cheese mixture is smooth and well blended, add the bottle of Ranch dressing. Break up the chicken with a fork until it is shredded well and add into the mixture. Blend it well. Pour the whole thing into a casserole dish and top with the cheddar jack cheese. Bake 350 degree for 30 minutes. Serve with tortilla chips.

Note: If you cannot find the large cans of chicken use four cans of the regular size ones. You can make this hotter or milder depending on how much Tabasco sauce you use and you can also change the shredded cheese to whatever kind you like. This is an awesome dip and goes very fast. I sometimes make double batches of it if we are having a big party.

Enjoy and come back soon for the pictures!

Love you all!-

 Whew! TGIAF

TGIAF!!!!! Which translates to Thank God it's almost Friday!!

I have been such a busy little bee this week that I think I burned my bonnet!! Seriously. this is the first time I have been able to sit down and relax after dinner this week and just chill for a bit. It has been go go go all week long and although that makes for a very fast week it also wears me out...

I should not be sitting here, I should be up doing stuff but you know what? I am gonna rebel and just chill. I am done with my work week.. I took tomorrow off because I have to be at the hospital by 8:45 in the morning but after I get that out of the way I will have some time to get the stuff done I need to do. I have to go to a place to check out their rehab facility, I still have to do some repair work on my three witches out in the garage. I have to take them to Mama Bear's house tomorrow afternoon and finish last minute touches. I have to still do some cleaning around here although Lovie did do some today. I have to go to the grocery store, and finish gluing on sequins on my costume (Yes...Auntie Bear that is another hint... you just havent been picking em up. That was clue #3...LOLOLOLOL!!) I have to make my buffalo chicken dip but I can make that Saturday morning I think. Oh and I have to get beer. I drink a specific kind because it does not give me a headache- Rolling Rock-Green Light... is my beer of choice at the moment. I've had several favorites but this one I found does not give me a headache the next morning like some of the other ones do.

I about went postal today on my doctor's secretary over my medical leave paperwork. I have to have it in before I actually go on medical leave and it also is required if I am to be paid my full salery while I am off work on disability.... The doctor's office policy says to give them 7 to 10 days to fill out paperwork. Well for this reason I gave them the paperwork on Oct 3rd. I call about it yesterday and she has the nerve to tell me they are behind and it will take two weeks normally and then two additional weeks on top of that! I about blew a gasket.... I told her I am having surgery in 7 days and that was unexceptable to me. We went a few rounds and today I had to make five.... YES FIVE phone calls to get the papers done today and in my grubby little hands. Then when she finally does fax it to me she had the dates wrong! UUUUGGGGHHHHH!!!!! I calmly told her through gritted teeth that she needed to change the dates and fax me the papers back immediately. Do you think my frustration level and blood pressure might be up a wee bit? Might it be because I am slightly stressed....you think????? Okay... I am breathing and calm.... relaxed no..... breathing yes and breathing is good.....

Sooooooooooooooooooooo that has been my day and now I came home and ate a good hot dinner of pasta and tomato juice and my belly is full and I dont feel like moving right now other than to just chill.
So here I sit typing to you peeps and sorry that I havent been able to catch up much.... as they say this too shall pass and life is good. Really it is.....

So I am going to do some mindless surfing until Survivor comes on and then I am going to be a slug on the couch cause this puppydawg is tired tonight.

Love yas!

 Sunday morning- Great Day!

Good Day Sunshine!

What a beautiful crisp morning this is! I am sitting here in Sophie's room right in front of the window and it is absolutely beautiful out there. I checked the temp and it is almost 50 degrees so it is a bit nipply out there so I may wait just a bit to go out.

My computer has been sucessfully moved upstairs and into Sophie's room, which is also our guest room..(don't tell Sophie that though...she thinks she is the queen of every room in the house!)
I am all ready to BLOG BLOG BLOG when I get out of the hospital. I am on countdown now and have 12 days to go. The doctor's office called me Friday afternoon and said we have a cancellation, you want to have the surgery done Monday? NO NO NO!!!! I have to mentally prepare myself and I am still training a person at work to fill in for me while I will be gone. Poor girl.. she says "OMG! You do so much...how am I ever going to do all this and my job too?" I told her just take one day at a time and do what you can. It is okay to ask for help. Plus we already moved the Halloween party up a week because of me and I wouldnt miss Taylor and Joey coming for the world! So nope I will keep my surgery as planned.

Yesterday I sat right in the middle of my bed most of the day and sewed and cut and snipped working on my costume. Eveytime I got a piece of it done I had to try it all on to make sure everything hangs just right and is in all the right places. Peak your interest? Ha Ha! You still have to wait! I know I am bad but I love anticipation especially when I am not on the other end of it.

I have got so much to do this week. I still have to drag out all the Halloween boxes and display stuff to go to the party. This includes an electric chair that I made. Three full size witches that are standing around a cauldren, my ring around the rosie ghosts and all the cemetary stuff that will make up the graveyard. That includes bodies and tombstones and all kinds of things that light up and go bump in the night. I also have some new stuff to add to the party this year.. A bride and groom 9 foot skeletons that will hang and greet people. Sounds like Mama Bear and my sister are adding some pretty cool stuff too this year. As you can tell... I get excited about Halloween and it is almost a tie between Halloween and Christmas as my favorite holidays.

Let's see. What else have I got planned this week? Well I have therapy tomorrow night after work. That means I wont get home until after 8. I have to leave about 5:50 in the morning for work too because we are doing school screenings Monday and Tuesday. This is where we go to inner city schools and give all the kids eye exams and for those that need glasses we provide them free of charge. I love doing this every year and it is so much fun interacting with the kids. Sometimes you hear some pretty funny stuff from the mouths of kids. Sometimes the kids are shy and reserved and sometimes you can tell they maybe dont have such a good like at home. Some are so talkative that they tell you things you dont expect. But all in all it is great. I love the little ones the best because they are just adorable. We use picture charts for them because they dont know their letters yet and it is soo cute the way they say ands think things. I love children anyway and this is one of my favorite times of the year.

At some point in the week I have got to do some major cleaning to this house! The kitchen floor needs a good scrubbing and waxing because it is going to be a while before I am able to do it again so I want to get it done before I go in. I need to straighten up my art room too. I am currently working on three new oil paintings and my room is a mess! Since I pulled my computer stuff out of there I need to rearrange the desk/art table. We have two new screen doors that we are putting on our back screened porch and they need to be sealed sometimes this week while they can still dry in the warm air. I've got to get this done before dampness of Fall really sets in. We are trying to do our Fall cleanup of the yard to prepare it for winter.

I have to go over to a nearby hospital that has a physical therapy place and check out their facility. I already went to one place but I am not going there for my rehabilitation. They want me to stay there for three weeks and I am unwilling to do that. It is just like a nursing home and I would much rather stay home in my own bed and be where I am comfortable... I have my pre-op appoinment Friday morning at the hospital. So it is going to be a busy busy week for me. Saturday is the party so I need to have everything done by then.

Well.. Sophie had her vet visit. I found out that in cat years she is actually 84 years old! No wonder the poor girl is having a tough time of things. I would be too if I was 84! Sophie has several things going on and her kidneys are bad. The vet wanted us to think about giving her intravenous fluids like an IV drip which would require a huge needle being put in her everyday by us. I am not sure I want to put her through that. She took some blood to see how far her kidney problems have progressed. We will find out next week. Sophie has been dropping weight each time we go to the vet. She only weighed at the most 6.25 lbs but she has dropped to 5.25 lbs now. This is related to her kidney stuff too. We just try to get her to eat whatever she will which these days is mostly canned food. Sophie also has a growth on her foot that we showed her vet and she said it could be malignant. It has to come off. She took Soph in the back and was going to see if she could caterize it but after she shaved her foot she said she thought it would be best if we brought her back because she may need anesthesia to do it. She did say though that after she could see it better that it may not be our worst fears but it still has to come off. She gave us some antibiotics for her wheezing and breathing issues. She was concerned because Sophie has been digging at herself and we found she picked up a flea somewhere. The vet only found one but she said for every one fleas there could be six because of the hatching larva stuff. Sophie must have got it when we went camping over the summer in Tennessee or out on the screened in porch somehow. Never in her 17 years has Sophie had a flea because she is an indoor cat, so no wonder she was scratching... poor thing. she will feel better soon.- We did an Advantage treatment and will follow up with another one next month to make sure any eggs are not hatched.
So we will know more after next week about the kidneys and about the thingy on her foot. At this point we want to make Soph as comfortable as possible, not put her through any traumas or things that will be upsetting to her. She is our baby and we will do whatever it takes to make her comfortable and secure while she is here with us.

Well.... I am going to head out here in a few minutes.. and see if it is any warmer.. Lovie has already hit the door and outside playing... She said she is going to biuld a huge bon-fire to burn some tree branches we have... I better go supervise! She lives for being outside and working in the yard all the time. She pouts in the winter cause she cant go out and play! Me..I'd rather stay inside where it is all snuggly and warm or better yet on a warm sunshiney beach somewhere! YEAH!

Have a great week Peeps and if I dont get on here much... I will see ya on the flip side!

Love,
PolarB ;)

 TGIF!!

Thank Goodness it is finally FRIDAY!!

Wow what a week this has been! Many lessons learned and still growing!
Lovie and I are ready for the weekend. I was hoping to sleep in tomorrow but NOPE... We have to take Sophie, our kitty into the vet in the morning. It is an hour and a half drive to get there so I guess we will have to leave by 6:30 to make her 8:00 appointment. Our poor Soph is having a hard time a bit. She is 17 years old...She has lost her hearing which is confusing as heck to her... she walks around crying all the time because she cannot hear that we are here with her...she is scratching herself silly trying to fix her own ears I think...and she is having some kidney issues along with arthritis... It's Hell getting old...even if you are a little puddycat. We just want to make sure she stays comfortable and does not suffer any. She has had a very pampered life but still I am not ready to let go. She's been our baby since she was just a little kitten. I know the time is approaching when we will have to say goodbye and that day is going to be hard hard hard. I'm not ready.

Onto more betta news... Lovie and I got a new car last weekend! It was the end of our lease on our Jeep and we ended up getting a Nisson Xterra that is pretty cool. Fully loaded and awesome stero sound system in it. Lovie already has Q's Juke Joint in there so she can jam while driving. It is her vehicle but I will drive it in the winter on snowy days since my Ram doesnt do well in snow and ice. UGGHH!! I dont want winter to come!! Can I just say right now that I hate cold weather! I DO!!!! Most likely you will have to hear me bitch and moan about it again at some point so heads up now... I hate winter.

I am working on my costume still and have to get the shirt for it this weekend and do a little sewing. I will have to dig up all my Halloween stuff..decorations and displays and take down to Mama Bear's this week to get ready for the Halloween party. Mama says the barn is coming right along and it's already looking frightful! I am so excited! I love Halloween and just the fun it brings. Lovie is pouting a bit because she does not want to dress up this year but I am working on it and have several easy ideas for her. The party is next Saturday so pictures will come very soon and the best thing of all is I will be seeing Taylor in person! I am soooooooooooo excited about that! My Auntie Taylor Bear is coming to town!! Bear hugs will abound for sure!

It is supposed to be really nice this weekend so I plan on spending some time outside and sitting around the bonfire several times!! I love Fridays!! It means it is time to play and you know how bears like to frolic and be playful!!

So Since it is Friday... I will list my Friday Fives now...

1. I LOVE Fridays!!! I look forward to them all week and both Lovie and I always say It's Playday!!! Better yet on the weeks it is Payday too!

2. We went to a new resturant last week called Quaker Steak and Lube and they specialize in wings... I LOVE buffalo wings! I tried a new flavor on my wings when we went there last Friday and it was Cajun Garlic BBQ wings and they were AWESOME! Feels like more! Hmmmm wonder if Lovie is in the mood for some wings tonight?

3. I love the buffalo wing flavor so much that I make a recipe called Buffalo Chicken dip and it is YUMMY! I will be making a huge batch of it for the Halloween party.

4. Cheesecake is my absolute favorite desert... I think I need to have some! I havent had any for about 6 months! I usually dont do deserts that often. I am a meat and potato kinda girl!

5. My surgery is 14 days away and I am getting nervous now...but it will be good to get it over with. AND the BONUS is during my recovery I will have 8 weeks to BLOG to my heart's content! Yeah!!! So after 8 weeks you're probably gonna be sick of me... but I also plan on trying to finish my book too. I haven't had much time to work on it so I will be able to devote some real time to it and GIT ER DONE!

Okay Peeps! Well it is time for me to head off and get this workday over with so I can PLAY!!

Have a great one and take care and BE NICE to one another... This is a great thing we have here...let's keep it that way!

Nuthin says luvin like a polarbear huggin!

Love,
PolarB ;)
