The Inner Sanctum...

 Save the Polar Bears

Hello bloggers... the next couple days will be very busy for me but I wanted to post this really quick this morning... I read an article yesterday regarding global warming and how the polar bears are becoming extinct. I naturally have an affection for polar bears in case you haven't noticed by now... The article on AOL news stated that they have seen recent evidence of polar bears becoming cannabilistic simply because they are starving and cannot get the food souirce they normally do. A report of a male polar bear was found to have attacked a female in her den. The two cubs sufficated in the attack and the male bear inflicted fatal wounds to the mother. It was found later that the male had eaten the female and that is highly unusual and almost unheard of.. It just goes to show that there really is something to the global warming warnings that we have been hearing about for years yet no action has been taken to correct this.. Below is an article about the polar bears and what we can do to try to save them. And yes even though Bush is involved I have doubts but I think this is worth the cause and hope that he has the decency to do something about this before it is too late. If you want to support this go to the website to send the message to the Bush Administration. Thank you for your support for this beautiful awesome animal.

Subject: Your immediate action needed to save the polar bear!

Thanks to courtroom pressure applied by NRDC, the Bush administration has finally agreed to consider federal protection for the polar bear, whose survival is threatened by global warming.

Now, we've got a brief window of opportunity to make our voices heard. The Bush administration has extended its deadline for taking public comments before making its crucial decision about whether or not to protect the polar bear. The new deadline is June 16 -- so we must act quickly and make sure that protection becomes reality!

Go to http://www.savebiogems.org/polar/takeaction.asp
right now and tell the Bush administration to protect the polar bear under the Endangered Species Act.

Global warming is rapidly pushing the polar bear to the brink of extinction. Over the past three decades, more than a million square miles of the Arctic sea ice that polar bears depend on for survival has disappeared. And on the western coast of Canada's Hudson Bay, the ice is melting about three weeks earlier in the spring than it used to.

Polar bears range over hundreds of miles of sea ice in order to find mates, hunt for seals and fatten themselves up for dormancy. But according to the best available scientific data, global warming could cause the polar bear's sea ice habitat to completely disappear by 2100! No sea ice, no polar bears. It's that simple.

If the polar bear receives federal protection, the Bush administration will be required by law to ensure that any new federal actions -- including those affecting global warming -- do not jeopardize the bear's survival or harm its essential Arctic habitat.

Go to http://www.savebiogems.org/polar/takeaction.asp
and tell the Bush administration to ensure that global warming doesn't drive these majestic natives of the far north to extinction.

Thank you for all your efforts to protect polar bears and slow global warming.

Thanks!

It's all fun and games til someone gets an eye poked out!

Okay I think it's time for a little fun and games what do you say??

This got me to thinking to when I was a kid....so I have a question for you...What types of games did you play as a kid? Dodgeball? Hide and Seek? How about Kick the Can? Tetherball? Duck Duck Goose? No??? Maybe you played - I see a color you don't see?

What about board games or card games? Old Maid? Operation? Monopoly?
Candyland? Life? Go Fish? Dominos?

What about those wonderful games you made up as a kid? We used to play one in the dark where all the kids in the neighborhood would run around trying to stay out of the way of someone who was the "Ghost" and had their eyes closed or blindfolded....then the rest of you would scatter about and then the ghost would say freeze.... then try to find you by reaching around for you... if he got close the others would say Boo and try to throw them off your track...It became interesting especially if you giggled and the Ghost heard you.
Hopefully he wouldn't run into you while you tried to maneuver out of
his reach without your feet moving from the spot you were froze
in....whoever got caught was the ghost the next time...

It was a great summertime game and we had tons of fun playing it as kids. The night and the lightening bugs out made it all the more fun... Makes me smile just remembering it...

So what about you? Any favorite games come to mind? What was your best
fun that you had playing as a kid?

Come on I know you can come up with something.... Dig wayyyyyyyyyyyyy back in your memory to the time you had fun being a carefree child playing games.

And speaking of fun... here is some fun for the adults... It's a little game I came across that I just bet you will get a hoot out of! I know I did!

The Bush Game

Here is a fun game despite political affiliation (uuuhhhh right!!!). Copy and paste on the link below and get a laugh!

 Restful Saturday...uhhh Sunday now....

Good morning to all you bloggers out there on the stream on this early early Sunday morning...

It was still Saturday night when I sat down in front of the computer to go through my photoshop and work with some of my pictures to transfer them to CD's for backup... which I still have not done. I just looked up at the clock and it is going on 1:00 in the morning but that's okay...time always seems to fly when I get on this ole box...I've also been checking out some websites I wanted to visit and found alot of interesting things! I thought about working on my book some more, however I would be working on that forever and not get anything else done so I decided not to for now... I have some more vacation time coming up in July that I will be home while Lovie is working and I will use the quiet time to work on my book then.

I updated my other blog on my website that I have on yahoo that is exclusively for my healing journey and hopefully it reaches out to other survivors in the process. It has alot of my artwork and photos on it as well and it set up a bit different. I don't always update it regularly as I do this site. If you want to visit it, it is
http://360.yahoo.com/labrat3589

I also want to apologize that I have not been updating my poetry site The Woman Within here on the stream at all in recent weeks... unfortunately I have not had much time to write poetry with the warmer weather here but I will eventually again... hang in there with me if it is one of the sites you like and visit....thanks to all who do - I appreciate it!

Today was a wonderfully lazy relaxing day... It's raining here and has been for most of the day and I think it is going to tomorrow too... Lovie and I had planned to get some more yardwork done and then have a little fun, but since we woke up to rain it changed our plans a bit... We took a drive out to the Zoo this morning only to find a good route for me to travel. I will be going on Wednesday there for an appreciation celebration for work where we treat our vendors to a special day and evening. We have planned a trip to the Zoo for a scavenger hunt and a nice dinner with drinks, then we have animal encounters with the animals in which we will get to touch and hold them.

I am also the photographer for the event and will help judge the pointing system for the scavenger hunt where teams of people will go around the Zoo and have to take pictures with a disposible camera of certain things that involve all their team members... Examples would be... they have to have their picture taken while on member of the team is sitting on a seal or they have to have all team members in the photo standing on one leg with pink flamigos in the background... Just silly things like that, that will be fun. They get so many points depending on what they chose to do.. they have to complete at least 10 things out of a list of 40. It will be alot of fun. I love workdays like that where we get to incorporate fun into the mix.

Well anyway so we took our ride and I have my safest route down...(Getting to and from the Zoo is through a very bad area of town and there are typically shootings there on a daily basis so I wanted the quickest and safest route I could find to get in and out of the area.)

Lovie and I decided to go to the grocery store afterwards so we did... then we ate lunch out which was so yummy. We ate at Chipotles which I absolutely am addicted to. It's Mexican food in case you dont have the chain locally in your area. I get a steak burrito bowl which is awesome! Then we came home and put the groceries away and it was still raining hard outside and a bit cool...

It only got up to about 70 today so we both decided to take a luxurious afternoon nap. Cuddled on the couch under a warm blankie my nap turned into a two and a half hour nap which felt so good! I stayed up too late last night well until after 3:15 this morning and then got up at 9:00 for the day... so the nap felt great to me and now here I am..... Lovie hollared down the steps to where my office is that she was gonna lay on the couch about an hour ago so I am sure she is fast asleep and snoring by now....

Well. I am gonna paddle on down the stream and see what I can get into... just thought I would ramble for a bit...-

Happy Sunday to you all and if you see a big white bear paddling down the stream in a little silver rowboat, just wave hello and I'll wave right back at cha!

Love,
PolarB ;)

 Friday Fun Facts!

FUN FACT FRIDAYS

For those of you new to the stream...this was something I started wayyyyyyyy back... okay maybe not wayyyyy back... but a while ago... so we could all get to know each other better and have fun in the process... Here is the premise if you would like to participate!

Every Friday you have to list 5, not 4 , not 3, not 2...... BUT 5 FUN FACTS about yourself-

Yeah we get grumblies about it but really...I know you can do it and it is easy if you just think about the things you like to do or your favorite things....

Okay.... so here are mine for the week!

1. I hate snakes... Can I just repeat that out loud? I HATE SNAKES!! and naturally I had an encounter with one last night out in the back yard... For one it makes me scream like a sissy little girl and two they give me the hebbie jebbies! I will be looking for that damn snake in the yard for the next week or two and thinking about it slithering around out there by my feet! YUCK!!!!

2. I love to sit in a quiet place outside and reflect and take in my surroundings with all of my senses... You know when you sit outside and close your eyes and just listen to see what you can hear? And then you breath it in and see what scents you can pick up... Then you notice how warm the sunshine feels on your skin and your face or maybe it's a slight breeze..... Ahhhhh... nothing better than that!

3. I love my flower beds and my yard... It is like a retreat for me... Lovie and I have worked really hard on the outside gardens and our outdoor setting and I love it! It gives me great satisfaction seeing all the hardwork and sweat we have poured into it to become something beautiful and peaceful...  (Way better than living in our third floor apartment for 18 years....Now we have land around us and our own home and I love it!)

4. Okay this is no suprise at all for those that know me and it may be a repeat if so....oh well... But I just love music.... Jazz and Native American top my listening list but really I love all kinds of music.. I have been listening to a new CD and I think I am gonna have to write about it soon because it mooooooooves me!

5. I may be considered to be quiet spiritual and a very positive reflective person but I also have a wicked warped sense of humor... I just love having fun and laughing and I am quite a bit mischievious too! Just ask Scratchomo! On second thought...maybe you better not....he he !

Okay bloggerville...there you have it and BTW thanks to GLegs who reminded me to post em today!--Have fun and post away!

Love to all! From da big white bear....
