Gift Basket Ideas
Surprise Birthday Bash! Fill this wonderful basket with colorful paper plates, napkins, and cups with a specific birthday theme. Throw in some balloons in all sizes and shapes. Add a huge cookie pizza and a few dozen cookies from a local bakery. Add in some birthday candles and confetti and you are ready for a party. If you really want to kick the fun level up, include a "Pin the Tail on the Donkey" game if it is for a child's birthday or add in adult games for the older crowd. Throw in some noisemakers and party hats and you've got yourself and instant party!
Lettuce Entertain You! This basket is dedicated to salad lovers. Add in all kinds of flavored croutons and specialty bottled salad dressings. Throw in a pair of fancy salad tongs and you can even wrap this basket in a nice large wooden salad bowl. Add in some toppings like sunflower seeds and pecan nuts or a small bag of dried cranberries. Perhaps some fresh mushrooms or bacon bits to finish off this lovely gift basket. Let your imagination take you to the creation of a perfectly yummy salad!
Tea For Two! Start off with two fancy teacups complete with spoons for this warm treat. There are so many special varieties of teas that you won't have any trouble filling this basket. Pick up some cookies and or scones at your local bakery. Add in some honey, some biscotti, and some other English tea biscuits or chocolate confections for this delightful gift. Not only with the tea be yummy and comforting, but it will warm the heart of their soul too.
Welcome Wagon! Great for new neighbors! You could literally get a small wagon and have other neighbors in your community get together to welcome your new friends. A planter for the porch and some home baked goods are always a welcoming treat.Who doesn't like pie and yummy cakes? Provide a list of the best restaurants in the area complete with menus for your newcomers. Give them a gift certificate to the best restaurant in town. Offer to take them around to highlight the "best of your neighborhood" for grocery stores, video stores, bakeries,etc.. A nice "Home Sweet Home" sign would be a nice touch for this welcoming basket. Anything that would considered a housewarming gift would be a great idea for this basket. You could get very creative with this gift.
Relaxing Spa! This is undoubtedly my favorite basket. Throw in some slippers and a nice plush terry robe. Bath Salts, Luffa sponges, Bath gels and fizzy salt balls are always wonderful for creating a spa bath at home. Add in a small hand massager for those tight muscles and some wonderful smelling lotions to sooth the skin. Give them a relaxing CD with ocean waves sounds. You can put this gift in a pretty hat box and include a "Do Not Disturb" sign. Your recipient will love it!
Family Game Night! This gift is a lot of fun for any family who receives it. Board Games that get the whole family involved is a must for this lovely gift basket. The more interactive the better! Scattagories or Win Lose or Draw are great suggestions. Gift cards for a large pizza with a few 2 liters of your favorite soda is a nice touch. Add in some microwave popcorn and some colorful large bowls so everyone can share. Be sure to throw in some fun card games and a game of Twister! Everyone will love the fun that this gift provides.
Bird Watcher! This gift basket is centered around nature and watching our little songbirds! You can start off with a nice pair of binoculars. Include some bird books so you can identify your feathered friends. A nice blue bird paperweight is a nice addition to this basket. Add in a hat and a hiking stick with local park maps for trails that are known for bird watching. Throw in a bird house or a bird feeder with some seed so they can enjoy the birds in their backyard. A hummingbird feeder draws these tiny little delightful birds that will give your recipient hours of enjoyment.
Garden Party! This is another favorite of mine. There is a ton of things you can do for this gift basket. Colorful pots in all sizes are a perfect addition to this gift. Packets of seeds, actual plants from a local nursery, gift cards, gardening gloves, gardening tools.... the list goes on and on. A pretty straw hat is a nice touch. Be sure to add some whimsical little garden gnomes or little garden critter statues like frogs or turtles. Or how about a little garden angel or fairy? As you can see this gift basket can be very creative and is inspired by your imagination.
Food Theme Baskets! Pick a country and fill up this lovely basket with great ideas! Mexican, Italian, Chinese, Germany.... the possibilities are limitless! For example if you picked Italy, you could fill this basket with Pasta and specialty Sauces. Throw in some pasta recipes for a great meal and add in spaghetti tongs! French or Sourdough Bread Loaves can be picked up at Panera or a local bakery. Add some spices like oregano, basil, garlic, and onion powder. How about a nice bottle of wine to go with that pasta? Red or white wine would be a great addition.
Of course what would this post be without the idea for a "What's Cooking in The Pot" gift basket centered around a cooking theme?
What's Cooking in The Pot!! You can fill a large black kettle or canning pot with these delightful gift items. Pot holders, recipe cards, cooking books, kitchen towels and dishcloths. Add in some spices and some cooking utensils to fill up this basket. There are some pretty colorful mixing bowls out there that any cook would be delighted to receive. How about some bags of chocolate chips with a cookie recipe thrown in? Let your imagination take you away on this one.
Just let your imagination soar when creating beautiful gift baskets. There are so many themes you could go with like a romantic getaway basket, a cheese and wine basket, a movie night basket, a new baby arrival basket.... so many ideas and all it takes is a bit of creativity on your part.
If you have made a lovely gift basket or have a great idea for one, tell me about it!! What kinds of things will you put in your gift basket?
Have a great week Peeps!
