The Inner Sanctum...

 Happy December 1st!
Back to Full Blog

Oh the weather outside is frightful...but the fire is so delightful!

Yes... It is snowing here and cold cold cold! BBBBRRRRR!!! I so do not like this cold weather! Oh well what can you do but just bear the brunt of it and try to stay warm and toasty inside.

Well we survived Black Friday. Lovie and I were up and at em at 3:00 am Friday morning. We hits Kohl's for a couple hours and stood in line 1 hour and 25 minutes but I snagged some incredible deals! So it was worth it. Next we headed to JCPennys where we found $100 coats on sale for $29.00 which Lovie and I both got each other new coats for Christmas. Not much else was found there though and the store was not busy at all. Next we headed to Target and found the rest of our good deals. I didn't dare go to Walmart on Black Friday as that place can be a nuthouse on that particular day. After seven and a half hours of shopping we where ready to call it quits and headed to Panera's for a nice lunch and much needed coffee.

Over the weekend we did go to Walmart and pick up several more things and I can say I am done with my shopping for Lovie finally. I still have a few more itmes to pick up for other people and I will be buying gifts for a homeless shelter who helps families get back on their feet, but otherwise I am pretty much done. Mission accomplished.

We found out on Saturday morning that our phone service was out. I picked up the phone to make a call and no dial tone. Which also meant no internet either. I was planning on getting on the Stream and catching up with all my comments yet I guess my phone service had different plans. Most likely it was the lines outside. When they do work on the lines they sometimes mess up other services too. It's happened before so hopefully that is the case again. I will try to get our phones fixed today and find out why we have no service. You pay for service and you expect to have it right? So hopefully I will be able to get back on the stream when I get home tonight. Thank goodness for work internet huh?

I hope your holiday was fantastic. Ours was great and we had beautiful weather over the weekend. Yesterday it started raining and bringing in the cold and the snowy weather. This week is supposed to be cold and blustery all week.

I was able to decorate the house for the holidays. It looks pretty good. We opted to not put up the big tree this year. Sometimes we do that. We have two smaller ceramic trees that we put up instead and they have twinkling lights on them. Of course I had to get out all of our Hallmark singing motion collectables. I love those things and Lovie's tradition on Thanksgiving day for the last 6 years has been to get the new one that Hallmark puts out every year. We love them.
This year's was called YUM YUM YUM. It is really cute.

Well, I need to get caught up on my email which told me I have 126 emails over the last five days, so I better go for now so I can scan them and see which ones are important and what I can save to open for later.

I hope you all had a great weekend. Sorry Gloria for the lack of Friday questions. I was up. I was just out shopping at the malls girl grabbing up those great deals! I promise you will have your Friday questions this week.

Bear Hugs and Lottsa love to you all!

Hi PolarB !! The weather outside is frightful is right on the money, it isnt going to get out of the 70's here all week !! It sure sounded like you had a busy weekend, i really do have to admire your courage in going out on Black Friday, you wouldnt get me near a store on Black Friday for anything. Here is a funny one for you, back in Salem last winter, a car accident took out the pole that my cable and phone is on. I didnt have internet for a week while they fixed everything so I called Comcast to ask for a credit for the week i did not have television or the internet....all they did was laugh and hang up on me.....now that's customer service !! Have a great Monday !!

PB --- well your 'goings on' sounds delightful = even if the weather isn't. Wise girl to stay away from Wally-World on Black Friday. As you now know that can be a 'killer' not to poke light fun at a tragic event. They should of immediately CLOSED that store down. People are Nuts.

We threw our 'old' tree out last year with the Christmas paper so this year is a time to purchase a 'new' one which we will.

Laughed at you?

I would have called back and asked for a manager. That is beyond rude. You shouldnt pay for what you do not recieve.

Just crazy.

BTW love the pics on your blog... hubby and I "honeymooned" in Salem during the first week of Haunted Happenings... I just love the people and the spirit in that town!

Howdy Miss Polar!

I still cannot believe you voluntarily braved the crowds of Black Friday. I have somehow managed to actually see for myself what the Maine Mall area looks like on Black Friday. Not this year. We decided to drive past and my jaw dropped! INSANITY! There were cars parked up on the curbs, cars parked on "grassy" areas, etc. What drove me nuts, as always, was the cell phone users, paying more attention to their conversations than the 1 ton hunk of metal they occupy!! (their cars)

Glad to know you survived!

Well Katie, good customer service is a rarity these days. I am sorry she did that to you. Yes I love Black Friday shopping. It is the perfect way to start the holidays and it really gets me in the mood. I hope you enjoyed the Keys over the Thanksgiving holiday. How awesome is that? Take care girl and I will talk to you soon.

Iceman, I did Walmart one year on Black Friday and that was all the warning I needed. I swore I would never do it again and I haven't. People get really crazy there for some reason. My one and only time On BF people were throwing punches, ramming each other with their carts and literally ripping things out of each other's baskets and hands. It doesn't surprise me that somebody got hurt there. It probably would not be a bad idea to have officers guarding the stores on that day.

I hope you find a lovely new tree and may your spirits be merry and bright, my friend.

Oh yes Polly we survived it. We actually go in to it with a plan and a good attitude. If it starts getting nasty then we leave as no deal is worth getting into a mess over.

I hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend and did not have to work the whole time. Sending you plenty of hugs and warm thoughts.

Ron yes I am sure there were chairs however we did not take advantage of them as we had an agenda to keep moving. It sure did feel nice though to sit down to lunch and have a nice meal and several cups of coffee while resting my tired dawgs.

My knees took the brunt of it but I was able to relax in the evening with my feet up on the couch so it was all good.

Well Gloria I like to be well prepared in advance. Some things I already had bought over the summer. Helps with the cash flow for one thing and plus I just love to shop. It is the one true thing that I am really girly about.

Belle I would have lasted alot longer except my poor knees starting hurting so bad and they started swelling on me really bad. I don't think I could have made it much longer as I had to go home and prop them up after our lunch, but I was satisfied with all I was able to get done.

I may not do purses and all that other girly girl stuff but I do LOVE to shop!

I think sometimes it is just instilled in our brain circuitry. Some love it and some just don't. Lovie would be in the former catagory right beside you. At least she is in good company!

I'm okay with shopping, but only on my own terms. I generally know what I want, hit it and get it....

That's Lovie to a T Belle! Hit IT and GET IT!

I will have to tell you about our most recent conversation. You will love it. Let's just say it involved pannies and name calling.

I have never cyber shopped BaBa and Lovie is always too scared for me to put any information that involves money on the web. If I had that option, that would probably be dangerous for me being an avid shopper and all.
