The Inner Sanctum...

 Be The Change...
Back to Full Blog

My cousin Lew sent me this video and I loved it so much I want to share it with you. It's called "Playing For Change"

Not only did I love the video but it sparked my thought process and I love it when something ignites and sets fire to my brainwaves and gets my juices flowing!

I think we are at a very pivotal point in the world right now. We are changing directions and changing leadership. I am just thrilled that Barack Obama is going to be sworn in Tuesday as our new President. I believe this man was brought to us for a reason. I believe there is a greater good at work here and that this moment in time is exactly how it is supposed to be. Yes, there is a historic moment about to unfold right before our eyes but I feel it is more than just that.

We are on the edge of something life altering. There is a shift that is happening and I think it is occuring all over the world. I feel a sense of hope and renewal and it gives me a good feeling. Today is pivotal. You want to see our world change? Then make it happen. Be a part of the solution not the problem.

Be the change you want to see in the world. That is a very powerful statement, so let me say it again. BE THE CHANGE YOU WANT TO SEE IN THE WORLD.

It doesn't matter what has happened in the past. It doesn't matter that so and so did this or so and so did that. What matters is today, right now. You want a different outcome than what you have been getting, then change is the operative word here. You want it to change? Then it is up to YOU!

Can you imagine the impact we could have on the world if everyone adopted that attitude and made it a choice that from this moment forward you were going to not complain or focus on everything that is going wrong in your world but to direct your focus on making your world a better place to live?

Maybe it is your home, maybe it is something in your relationships with others, maybe it is something in your community or your schools or churches, or your government or the world. Whatever it is... it has the ability to change for the better.

It is possible. You may think, but I am just one person ....how am I ever going to impact the whole wide world around me? Well you know what? It has to start somewhere and why not be the one to make the choice to do it? And if you do it and I do it..that's two. And if you get your friends and family to do it and they do the same.. it can have quite an impact.

You want world peace? Then make your surrounding world a place a peace. Did you know it is totally up to you when you let somebody rob you of your peace? Did you know that when you respond to them that you are giving away your power? Do you really want to go around giving your power away to everyone else? NO! Of course not. Make a decision to be at peace and to make your world a place of peace even when others around you aren't peaceful. It is a choice.

Before you know it, it will be noticed and somebody next to you will say... I want some of that. It is so easy to make it happen and they can do it too. It's kind of like pay it forward or the domino effect. Just like spreading kindness, and goodness and love, it is a choice we choose to make.

What do you want to change in your world right now? What is stopping you? Because if you really are honest with yourself the only person that is stopping you is you.

Choose to make a difference right now. Choose to be the change you want to see in the world.

Spread love and spread kindness and it will surround you.

Love & Bear Hugs,
PolarB ;)

Yes Ron! Be what God meant you to always be. Live a life of peace and doing good to others, sharing kindness and love and understanding to all those around you.

We can truly make our world a better place if we all put a bit of effort into it.

Bear Hugs & Blessings!

If only everyone would be the change they want to see in the world. The sad fact is that most people, don't start to change unless it directly affects their wallet. I can't wait for Tuesday.

Polar I agree with you wholeheartedly. I believe Barack Obama has been sent to us for a reason. I only hope that he is really ready for the mess that has been left in his lap.

We are getting snow finally, supposed to have 5 inches by morn. But the temps have been brutal, at least not as bad as some places though. Have a nice eve!

Drillbit yes I agree that people usually don't change until it starts to affect them personally. I think there is a saying that says people will change when the pain becomes greater than the fear of change. I know I didnt quote it correctly but you probably get what I mean.

Nice to see you drop by. Tell Mack I said Hi.

Hey, PB! You can tell me "Hi" yourself!!!

I find that change can be easy, once you get the right attitude. Changing an attitude is much more difficult to do. That attitude/ point of perception/ its the way it's always been done mentality is a key to change. I know for myself that if I can truly change that key attitude, then the rest all falls into place.

Enjoyed the blog post, PB and admire the desire you have!
Cheers! ~MacKenzie

PB, as always, quite the inspitation! I am going to send a friend in need, of mine over to you, as I know you would be quite an inspiration to her, and she will love you like the rest of us.

Another friend puts the election of Obama as, a gift to the nation. Pretty amazing stuff going on here!

I think Obama will handle himself very nicely. I think he is the change we need in the White House. I hope he can make a difference and that others do not oppose the things he wants to do for our country. Yes Bush certainly has left a mess in the 8 years he was in. It will take a while to recover from it, but it is possible.

We got a bit of snow again overnight. About 2 inches at most altogether. I heard Carolinas all the way up to VA was getting snow.
Stay warm!

HI Mack!!!!! Girl you are so dead on in your comments. That is sooo very true. We do have to change our perceptions and belief systems before we can truly make a change with any kind of impact.

N.Lynn, I would be pleased to meet your friend! Send her on and I will welcome her with a big bear hug.

Yes I think Obama is a chosen man. I do think there is more at work here than just the election of a new president. He is someone who will have a positive impact on our world. I have never in my lifetime seen an elected President of the United States embraced so well by most of the other countries in our world. Did you know that many other countries held celebrations in their streets with dancing and festive gleee and were so happy for our nation when Barack got elected? That says alot to me. The leaders of the other world embrace and praise him as our leader. That is significant. This is a special man who is here to give hope to not only our country but to the world.
I just feel it.

Ice, I think Obama is bringing us hope but he alone can not "save our country" It is going to take the people as a nation working together toward a common goal. Unless we start sitting up and paying attention and doing our part, it won't happen by the acts of one lone man no matter how powerful he is. However I believe Obama is a man who can motivate us and lead us to want to make our world a better place for all of us.

PolarB -
Playing for Change - and a "play on words" as well.
This reminds me of The Silk Road Project going on with Yoyo Ma and other musicians. (Yoyo Ma played the cello at Obama's inaugaration today.) Anyway, Ma exlained the project as a way to use what he called the "soft power" of music to spread peace across different cultures in different parts of the world, because music crosses the language barriers. Check out the website: http://www.silkroadproject.org/
Love ya,

Thank you Buffy for your comments. Yes we can only control our own actions and thoughts. Others like family members and friends have to find their own path and be ready and willing to change. The important thing I notice about change is that when we change it does impact others around us and therefore they begin to change too in slow and subtle ways. We can make a difference by being an example and leading the way to make our life more positive.

Yes Whit so true. The energy was electrifying yesterday. We are at a pivotal time in our day and change is the key word. We HAVE to change if we are to save our world and make it a better one for future generations. OUr survival in the world depends on it and the rest of the world is watching us to take the lead. I think we are on the cusp of something that will be impactive to each and every one of us.

That is good Ice. I think the mood would have been totally different and hope might have been dashed for many Americans had we had a different result for the elections. I feel such a sense of hope and alive energy ever since Obama was elected and I think many people feel the same way, not just Americans but in the whole world.

Polar B, nice post, nice video.

I too see this as the right direction for America. I didn't buy it completely in the beginning but I now feel the "HOPE" and look forward to "ACTION".

I heard there were NO, not one, arrest at the inauguration. All those people. Isn't that wonderful.
